Robert F. Phillips

Robert F. Phillips, 86, of Plainfield died peacefully in his sleep with his family about him after a long illness. He was born February 6, 1924 to Walter and Marie Phillips. He married Alice M. Piotrowski on November 20, 1944 who survives. Also surviving are his 2 sons, Keith V. (Sylvia) and Kent M. Phillips; grandsons, Jesse (Amber) and James; great grandsons, Jesse and Austin. He served in the US Navy 5 1/2 years as a Pharmacist Mate 1st Class, attached to the 3rd Marine Division in the South Pacific. He was proud to serve his country receiving these commendations; Asiatic Pacific Area with 3 Stars, Good Conduct Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, American Area Medal and World War II Victory Medal. He was a founding member of St. Susanna Parrish where a Mass in his memory will be held at a later date.
