Violet Witt

Violet Witt, 68, of Plainfield, IN. passed away September 23, 2010. She was born May 28, 1942 in Pulaski County, KY. to the late Quannah and Ida Langford. She had worked for Galyans and Dick's Sporting Goods for 9 years retiring in 2007.She was a member of the Scipio (Ohio) United Baptist Church. Violet dedicated her life to the service of others. She served on the Franklin Co. EMS for thirteen years. She was loved by many who called her Mom and had a special bond with her family and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her son, J. Keith Witt as well as brothers, Arthur, Clay and William Langford. Funeral services will be Saturday, September 25, at 1:00 pm in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, where friends may call on Friday, September 24, from 4:00 - 8:00 pm. Burial will be in West Ridge Park Cemetery, Indianapolis. Survivors include her husband, Jerry Witt Sr.; 2 sons, Jerry Kenny (Cris) Jr. and Jerome Kelly (Robin) Witt; daughter, Jennifer Kay (Tony) Coy; brothers, Clyde, Cecil, Clinton and Cleamon Langford; sisters, Nora Matthews and Nellie Inman; 5 grandsons.
