Richard Dean Knoll, 84, of Plainfield, passed away July 7, 2010. He was born June 20, 1926 in Richmond, IN. to the late Leonard I. and Neva (Souder) Knoll. He was a graduate of Canterbury College. Richard was a WW II Army veteran in the South Pacific. He was the former owner of Starken Printing from 1947 - 1954. In 1955 he became a co-owner of Starken Printing with Allan Rivers until 1975. He was the founder of Knoll Printing in 1975 and retired in 1979. Richard was a member and former elder and Sunday School teacher at Plainfield Christian Church, where funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 10, at 2:00 pm. Friends may call at the church from 12:00 pm until the time of service. Burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery, Plainfield. His hobbies include collecting Indian artifacts, gardening and landscaping as well as his love of fishing. He was preceded in death by his twin sister, Barbara Nysewander. Survivors include his wife, Gloria (Starken) Knoll; son, Allan Wade (Patty) Knoll; 2 daughters, Linda Jane (Bill) Jones and Lisa Ann (Pat) Eads; sister, Lou Ann (Allan) Rivers; grandchildren, Donald Edward and Robert Dean Jones, Kristina Michelle Hagemeier, Jesse Richard Knoll, Christopher Dean Kennedy, April Leeann Harnish and Chad Edward Crawley; 12 great grandchildren.
