Jean Allyn Watts

Jean Allyn Watts, 77, of Brazil, IN. formerly of Plainfield, IN. passed away May 8, 2010 in her residence. She was born May 27, 1932 in St. Paul, MN. to Luverne D. and Zella V. (Gravelle) Houston. She graduated from Plainfield High School and attended Depauw University where she was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority. Jean was a homemaker and member of Beech Grove United Methodist Church (rural Putnam County). Her other memberships include Plainfield Order of Eastern Star # 414 and the Red Hat Society (Girls of Rocky Fork Lake Chapter). Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 12, at 11:00 am with visitation from 10:00 am until time of service in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home. Additional visitation will be Tuesday, May 11, from 4:00 - 8:00 pm in the funeral home. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her father, brothers, Sheldon and Rodney Houston, son, Rodney Watts. Survivors include her husband, Edward W. Watts Jr.; son, Gregory A. Watts; daughters, Jeanine R. DeLashmit and Brenda Welker; mother, Zella V. Houston; 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren as well as several cousins.
