William Moody Woodruff, 76, of Plainfield, IN. passed away March 9, 2010. He was born November 1, 1933 in Neptune, NJ. to the late William and Myrtle Woodruff. Bill graduated from Lakewood H.S. in Lakewood, N.J. in 1951 and served in the U.S. Navy from 1951-1954. Following his naval service he graduated from Tennessee Temple College in 1958 and Temple Baptist Theological Seminary in 1961 as valedictorian. He served faithfully as pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Vincennes, IN. for 15 years from 1962-1977. He also served as chaplain at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes for 12 years. Bill also pastored at the First Baptist Church of Kingsbury, IN. from 1977-2003 when he retired. He will be remembered for his faithful and tireless service. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Plainfield, IN. 1290 S. Center St., where a memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 13, at 3:00 pm. Friends may call from 1:00 pm until the time of service. He was preceded in death by half brothers, Joseph and Edmund K. Stillwell. Survivors include his wife Wilma (Alderman) Woodruff whom he married in Tampa, FL. in 1957; sons, Stephen William (Anya) and Daniel Moody (Irene) Woodruff; grandchildren, Stephen Wesley (Elizabeth), Daniel James, Hans and Brenna Woodruff; great grandchild, Jayda Monique Woodruff.
