William I. Smiley

William I. Smiley, 80, of Plainfield, passed away March 6, 2010 in his residence. He was born June 11, 1929 in Daviess County, IN. to the late William Wallace and Freda (Crane) Smiley. He was a long time salesman for Foot Support Shoes in Indianapolis and Haase Shoes in Plainfield. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Plainfield, where a memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 11, at 7:00 pm. Friends may call at the church from 4:00 pm until time of service. Survivors include his wife, Ramona A. Smiley; daughters, Tina Marie Hand and Tresa Anne Strakis; sisters, Helen Smith and Janet Foster; 4 grandchildren. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the church. Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
