Reba Lavena Key Hayes, 87, of Danville, IN died Feb. 23, 2010. She was born Aug. 8, 1922 to the late C. Bailey and Della (VanVactor) Key in Calvert City, KY. She graduated from Calvert City High School in 1940. She worked at the Wright Patterson AF Base, Dayton, OH during WWII cleaning and repairing B17 fighters, and she also worked 17 years at the C&E Drug Store in downtown Plainfield retiring in 1976. She married William E. Hayes on July 8, 1945 in Jefferson City, TN. He passed away on April 25, 2000 after 54 years of marriage. Survivors include her 4 children, William E. (Cheryl) Hayes Jr. of Danville, Robert R. (Mary) Hayes of Hartwell, GA, Virginia A. (Jim) Kollath of Bradenton, FL, and Della Susan (Ben) Darnell of Clayton, IN; 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. Also preceding her in death was a brother Iloff Key. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Friday, February 26 in the chapel at Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, February 25 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, IN. Entombment, Maple Hill Cemetery.
