Dorothy M. Burris

Dorothy M. (Shockley) Burris, 94, of Cartersburg, passed away February 18, 2010. She was born December 15, 1915 to the late Charles W. and Edith (Clark) Shockley in Danville, IN. She worked along with her husband at the Cartersburg Springs Bottling Plant for 13 years. She later worked as a food service supervisor for the Danville Nursing Home for 13 years retiring in 1978. She is survived by a daughter, Marian L. Arney; a grandson, John Delbert (Patty) Edwards; 2 great grandchildren, Annette Marie McGlothin and John Daniel Edwards; and 5 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jewell R. Burris; 4 brothers, Conrad, Donald, Lowell and Louis Shockley; and a sister, Myrtle Mae Allen. Funeral services will be at 12:00 noon Monday, February 22, 2010 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, where friends may call on Monday from 10:00 am until service time at 12:00 noon. Burial, Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.
