S. Thomas Forgue

S. Thomas Forgue, PhD, 61, of Plainfield passed away on Saturday October 17, 2009, after a protracted struggle with esophageal cancer. He was born October 20,1947 in Princeton, NJ to Stanley Vincent and Dorothy Jeanne (Huber) Forgue. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Cheryll (Reed) Forgue, their daughter Laura Simons (Gerry) and grandchildren, Thomas, Adam and Kaitlin Simons of Middlebury, IN. Also surviving are his sister, Mary Jeanne Metz of Zionsville, and a brother, Wesley Vincent Forgue of Delaware, OH. Tom received his BS degree (chemistry) from Penn State and his PhD, (pharmacology) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Tom's passion was pharmaceutical research holding senior scientist positions at Lederle Laboratories, Pearl River, NY; Bristol-Myers, Syracuse, NY; and Parke Davis, Ann Arbor, MI. He joined Lilly Research Laboratories in 1995 contributing to development of several significant medicines and was most recently Senior Research Advisor in pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics. Tom's favorite pursuits were time with his family, especially his grandchildren, running and cycling. Tom was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Avon. Visitation is from 4:00 to 7:00 pm Tuesday October 20, 2009 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield followed by funeral services on Tuesday at 7:00 pm, with Pastor Gene Lilienthal officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Esophageal Cancer Awareness Association (www.ecaware.org/helpecaa.htm). Alternatively, send a memorial gift "In memory of S.
