James Lee Kirtley

James Lee Kirtley, 73, of Plainfield, IN. passed away in his residence on September 12, 2009. He was born April 15, 1936 in Economy, IN. to the late Ernest Raymond and Nancy Louise Kirtley. He was a graduate of Economy High School and a Navy veteran serving on the aircraft carrier USS Lake Champlain from 1955-57. Jim was a commercial insurance underwriter earning his CPCU. He retired after 30 years as Risk and Insurance Manager for Public Service of Indiana/Cinergy Electric. He was also the past president of the Indiana Chapter of Risk Insurance Managers Society. He was a member of St.Susanna Catholic Church, where a Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, September 19, at 10:00 am. Visitation will be on Friday, September 18, from 4:00 - 8:00 pm in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home. Burial with full military honors will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Mary Patricia (Harmer) Kirtley; sons, John Lentz (Nancy) and David Edward (Shari) Kirtley; daughter, Rita Anne (Kevin) O'Donohue; brother, Dale Kirtley; grandchildren, Justin, Laura, Sophie, Sarah and Adeline Kirtley, Ryan and Molly O'Donohue; several nieces and nephews.
