Wilbur J. Thomas Sr.

Wilbur J. Thomas Sr., 84, of Plainfield, passed away September 6, 2009. He was born May 3, 1925 to the late Landon and Lottie (Moon) Thomas in Plainfield, IN. He was a US Navy veteran of WWII. He worked 20 years for the Town of Plainfield, retiring in 1988. he was a member of the Monrovia Nazarene Church. He is survived by his wife, Lois Jean (Jones) Thomas; two daughters, Darlene K. Spears and Cheryl A. Thomas; two sons, Gary L. Thomas and Wilbur "Bud" Thomas Jr.; two brothers, Harold and Landon James Thomas; four sisters, Helen Klugow, Alice Miller, Margaret Montgomery and Betty Romant; 10 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Novia Juanita Thomas. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Friday September 11, 2009 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, where friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, September 10. Burial, Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.
