Mary "Jo" Smith

Mary Jo Smith, 89, formerly of Plainfield, passed away on May 4, 2017. She was born in Owen County, IN on January 27, 1928 to the late Keneth and Bessie (Shelburn) Phillips. Mary Jo was a cashier for Hooks Drugs retiring after 27 years. She was a dedicated homemaker and loved her family very much. Mary Jo was a member of First Baptist Church of Plainfield. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cindy Smith; several brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be Monday, May 8, 2017 at 10:30 am in the First Baptist Church (1012 Stafford Road, Plainfield, IN, 46168) where friends may call Sunday, May 7, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. Survivors include her husband, Charles Smith; sons, Terry (Jody) and Rusty (Jan) Smith; daughter, Heather (Shannon Tharp) Smith; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild.
