Betty L. Trotter

Betty L. Trotter, 83, of Plainfield, passed away September 2, 2009. She was born February 26, 1926 to the late Earl and Hattie (Kerns) Longmire in Indianapolis, IN. She worked as a secretary for the Indiana Department of Corrections for 28 years retiring in 1994. She was a member of the Plainfield United Methodist Church, a member of the American Business Women's Association, and a member and past president of the Indiana Correctional Association. She is survived by a son, David A. (Susan) Trotter; a daughter, Kathy A. (Gary) Kline; a sister, Marcia Walbring; 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jackie L. Spears. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Thursday September 10, 2009 in the Plainfield United Methodist Church, 600 Simmons St. Plainfield. Visitation will be on Wednesday September 9 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Burial, Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.
