Gerald (Gerry) Franklin Wright

Gerald (Gerry) Franklin Wright, 54, of Oakland Park, FL, formerly of Plainfield, IN, passed away suddenly on March 31, 2017. He was born in Pontiac, MI on June 8, 1962 to George Franklin Wright and Barbara Jayne Wright. Gerry was a graduate of Plainfield High School and received his Bachelor’s Degree from Indiana University. Gerry worked in the insurance business while living in Indiana. After his move to Florida, he worked in the hospitality business. Gerry loved the outdoors, music, good jokes, and his family. He had a great smile and an infectious laugh. His memories will live in the hearts of all those that loved him. He will be sorely missed by many people. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, father, and son, Geoffrey Franklin Wright. Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Barbara Jayne Wright; his children, Gerald Thomas Wright (Sara Beth), Alexandria Jayne Wright, Zachariah Morris Wright, Timothy Randolph Wright; his grandchildren, Shiloh Marie Wright, Chloe Jayne Wright, and Brynlee Jayne Wright; his brothers Charles Kevin Wright (Lawrence), Randolph Wayne Wright (Sara), Brian Keith Wright (Troy); his niece Jessica Nicole Newby (David), as well as extended family and many friends. A memorial service will be conducted Friday, April 21, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, where friends may call from 5:00 until time of service. Contributions may be made to the Hendricks County Community Foundation or the American Heart Association.
