Eugene M Margiotti

Eugene M. Margiotti, 85, of Plainfield, passed away April 13, 2017. He was born August 26, 1931 to the late Martin and Mary (Shultz) Margiotti. He was a US Navy veteran of the Korean War. He received his Bachelor of Science in Engineering at Geneva College in PA. He was a 50 year member of the St. Susanna Catholic Church, Plainfield., Knights of Columbus, and a 40 year member of the Screaming Eagles Radio Control Flying Club. He was a Mechanical Engineer for over 30 years for GM Allison Gas Turbine Plant, where he also was the Plant Manager. Eugene is survived by his son, Gene (Bridget) Margiotti; three daughters, Marilyn (Bill Ridings) Margiotti, Jeanette Oberg, and Carolyn (Scott Johnson) Margiotti; 9 grandchildren, Blair Anthony Ridings, Evan Anthony Oberg, Joshua William Ridings, Mason Eugene Oberg, Mia Marie Oberg, Jenna Elisabeth Margiotti, Ava Rose Margiotti, Grayson Cole Johnson and Chase Anders Johnson, and 1 great grandson Carter Eugene Oberg. He was preceded in death by his wife Helen M. Margiotti. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, April 20, 2017 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, April 21 at the St. Susanna Catholic Church, Plainfield. Entombment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield. Memorial contributions may be made to the building fund at St. Susanna Catholic Church, 1210 E. Main St., Plainfield, 46168.
