Aud T. Wilkerson passed away peacefully in his home on April 04, 2017, in Plainfield, IN at the age of 85. Aud is survived by his wife of 61 years Mary Lou Silver Wilkerson; daughter, Kelly (Steven) Henshilwood; son in law, Dr. Charles Tripple; granddaughters, Haley (Chris) Summers, Laura Henshilwood, Holly (Josh) Wasmundt; grandson, Jason (Annette) Henshilwood; great grandchildren, Hannah and Jacob Gastineau, Grace Summers, Jaxson and Vivienne Cassel, Lilly, Maddie, and Noah Wasmundt, Dani and Makenzie Henshilwood. He was proceeded in death by daughter, Kay Wilkerson Sinclair Tripple and grandson, A.J. Sinclair. Aud was born on June 27, 1931 in Indianapolis, IN to Aud T. Wilkerson Sr. and Anna M McConnell Wilkerson. He graduated from Arsenal Tech High School before joining the Navy and serving in the Korean war . He retired from Eli Lilly after 40 ½ years of service, and then worked 20 years at Plainfield Ace Hardware. He was a long time member of Hope United Presbyterian Church of Plainfield, a member of Plainfield Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite, and the Murat Shriners. Aud was a friendly, outgoing individual who dearly loved his family. He was an avid reader and loved to fish. He was passionate about watching his favorite television shows Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. He enjoyed having dinner at Cracker Barrel and cheering on the IU Hoosiers Basketball team. He also enjoyed spoiling his faithful dog, Tilly. All are welcome to join the family in celebrating Aud’s life, with calling from 4pm-8pm on Friday, April 7 at Hampton Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield. The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, April 8 at 11:00 am at Plainfield's Hope United Presbyterian Church(1331 Section Street) with entombment at Maple Hill Cemetery in Plainfield.
