Earl D. Pickerel

Earl D. Pickerel, 50, of Plainfield, IN., passed away August 9, 2009. He was born July 12, 1959 in Greencastle, IN. to Jon and Rosemary (Cooper) Pickerel. Earl was a U.S. Marine and a member of the Indiana Army National Guard where he served in the Iraq War. He was a locomotive engineer for 30 years with CSX. His memberships include the Plainfield Christian Church, Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen, Plainfield FOP, Plainfield Eagles Lodge,Avon VFW and the American Legion. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 13, at 10:30am in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, where friends may call on Wednesday, August 12, from 3:00 to 8:00 pm. Burial with military honors at Maple Hill Cemetery. He was preceded in death by a sister, Evone Pickerel. Survivors include a daughter, Rachelle Pickerel; brother, John Pickerel; sisters Laura Raines, Selina Clayton and Jackie Emberton; mother Rosemary Green; father, Jon Pickerel.
