Ruby P. Petell

Ruby P. York Petell, 84, passed away in Longview, TX on July 7, 2009. Ruby was a 15 year resident of Plainfield and had worked as a hostess/cashier at SunShine Cafe in Plainfield for several years. She was born May 17, 1925, one of 8 children of Marvin D. and Pearl York of Clinton County, KY. Preceding her in death were husbands Lawrence D. Clark of Summitville, IN and Andrew Petell of Plainfield; parents Marvin D. and Pearl York of Albany, KY; sisters Margie (Richard) Graham of Terre Haute, IN and Christina Hubbard of Stanford, KY; brothers Raymond York of New Castle, IN and Marvin D. York Jr. of Albany, KY; and grandson, Jeremy W. Clark of MI. Left to cherish her memory are son Larry (Alice) Clark of Ore City, TX; daughter Patsy J. Giddens of Keller, TX; son Tommy D. Clark of Mason, MI; daughter Marcie (Jim) Hildebrand of Plainfield; brother Billy York of Gas City, IN; sister Doris (Don) Hicks of Campbellsburg, IN; brother Jim (Peggy) York of New Castle, IN; 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, along with a host of extended family and friends. Ruby loved bingo, gambling casinos, and family gatherings. She lived her life to its fullest and enjoyed her family and friends immensely. Our lives were enriched because of her presence. She is sadly missed by all. A Memorial Service will be held at Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield on August 8, 2009 at 2:00 pm. Visitation will be Saturday from 1:00 pm until service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to your favorite charity in her name.
