Arthur Anton House, 96, of Plainfield, returned to the Lord on October 10, 2016. He was born Arthur Usitalo on December 31, 1919, to Anton & Elin Usitalo House (his Finnish immigrant parents) in Gary, IN. A graduate of East Chicago Washington High School, he was an Army veteran, serving in France during WWII. Among his many jobs, he was a steelworker, a medical technician, an industrial chemist, and a real estate agent. His accomplishments include constructing seven homes and obtaining a United States Patent. He was a member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, Plainfield. He was preceded in death by Evelyn, his wife of 71 years, and by his sister, Edith Aldrin. Arthur is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Richard Meiss, and grandsons Alan (Carloyn) and Mark (Heather) Meiss, and by his niece, Margaret Finnegan. He was greatly loved and will be greatly missed. Private services will be held by Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield.
