Allan E. Rivers

Allan E. Rivers, 89, of Plainfield, passed away on October 6, 2016 in his home surrounded by family. He was born on January 22, 1927 in Indianapolis to the late Errett and Mary (Harvey) Rivers. Allan was a 1945 Plainfield High School graduate. He was an United States Army veteran. Allan was the former owner and operator of Starken Printing Company. He was a lifetime member of the Plainfield Christian Church. He was a member of the Plainfield American Legion and the Plainfield Masonic Lodge #653. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lou Ann Rivers; son, Mark Rivers; brothers, Charles and Jack Rivers. Funeral services will be Monday, October 10, at 1:00 pm in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, where friends may call from 11:00 am until time of service. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. Survivors include his son, Scott (Dianna) Rivers; daughters, Carol (Thomas) Wesseler, Connie Fisher and Gail James; 9 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren.
