Jean D. Lind, 89, of Plainfield left us here on earth to join her husband, Don in heaven on September 28, 2016.
She was born June 13, 1927 to the late John and Bernice (Ruse) Drummond.
She taught one year at Mooresville School District. She went on to teach 35 years in the Decatur Township School District at Stephan Decatur and West Newton Schools, after receiving her two degrees at Indiana University. Throughout her career, she touched so many young minds. She always believed that knowledge was power.
She loved teaching, travel, and politics. Jean is survived by a daughter, Joyce Lind Wagner, and grandchildren Christina Davila, David Wagner, and Todd Wagner; and great grandchildren Charlotte Grace and Christopher Davila, and Katarina and Sebastian Wagner; daughter, Annette Lind, and grandchildren, Brian and Jennifer, Brent, Brad, Brittany, Blake Lusenhop, and great grandchildren McKenzie, Ethan, Kylie and Natalie Jean; and a son Greg, and grandson, Cory Lind.
She is also survived by all her friends and neighbors who knew and loved her. I would ask that all of you ...
Dance as if no one is watching
spend as though you have it, and
love as though you have never been hurt.
She would expect nothing less from any of us. Peace and blessings be with you. My sister, brother, and I were fortunate to have her for a mother and her grandchildren were lucky to have her as a grandmother. Jean will be missed greatly, but for all of us who had the opportunity to know and love her, a Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, October 1, 2016 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, where friends may call on Saturday from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm. Inurnment will be held later at Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.
