Kenneth E. Day

Kenneth E. Day, 84, of Plainfield, passed away September 4, 2016. He was born August 24, 1932 to the late Daniel and Martha (Goodwin) Day in Indianapolis, IN. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. He worked for Public Service of Indiana as a telecommunications manager for 26 years retiring in 1990. For over 50 years he operated an amature ham radio. He was a member of the Plainfield United Methodist Church, and the Plainfield Masonic Lodge #653. Ken is survived by a son, Gary L. Day and a daughter, Mary L. (Tim) Schmitter. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice A. (Dumond) Day. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Sunday, September 11, 2016 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am on Monday, September 12 in the Plainfield United Methodist Church. Burial, with military honors, will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.
