Leroy D. Anders

Leroy D. Anders, 95, of Mooresville, passed away August 31, 2016. He was born in Mooresville on November 16, 1920 to the late Robert and Albia (Stout) Anders. Leroy was a 1941 graduate of Mooresville High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in WWII. Leroy worked for the Mooresville Post Office for 32 years retiring in 1975. Some of his hobbies included wood working, building clocks and repairing them. He grew up in the Mooresville Nazarene Church. Leroy was preceded in death by his wife, Lura Helen Anders; brother, Chester Anders; sister, Elsie Davis. Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 7, in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield at 10:30 am. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. Survivors include his daughters, Darla Hadley and Debra Barker-Martin and husband David Martin; 4 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren.
