Omer L. "Butch" Arvin, 98, of Plainfield, passed away August 25, 2016. He was born January 29, 1918 to the late McKinley and Sally (Hunt) Arvin in Lebanon, KY. He was a US Army veteran of WWII where he fought at the Battle of the Bulge with Gen. Patton. He was a member of the Plainfield United Methodist Church and the Plainfield Masonic Lodge F&AM #653, and the Indianapolis Scottish Rite. He worked for Allison Gas Turbine for over 30 years retiring as a group leader in 1978. Butch is survived by a step-son, Steven Patrick. He was preceded in death by his wife, Coleen S. (Costin) Arvin. Graveside services, with military honors, will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, August 29, 2016 in the chapel at Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield, and where friends may call one hour prior to services at the cemetery.
