Joseph A. Runyan

Joseph A. Runyan, 86, of Plainfield, passed away June 5, 2009. He was born February 26, 1923 to the late Edward and Mamie (Laymon) Runyan in Hymera, IN. He was a pilot in the US Army Air Corps during WWII. He was a member of the Plainfield Christian Church. He retired as an engineering data control specialist in 1983 from GM Allison Transmission Plant after 42 years of service. He is survived by his wife Marjory (Mitchell) Runyan; a son, William Runyan; four daughters, Janet (Dick) Snider, Diana Bennett, Linda (Ron) Bush and Joan (Mike) Mains; 12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Tuesday June 9, 2009 in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, where friends may call on Tuesday from 11:00 am until service time at 1:00 pm. Burial, Clayton Cemetery.
