Donovan G. Humphrey

Donovan G. Humphrey, 87, of Plainfield, passed away June 13, 2016. He was born March 11, 1929 to the late Talmage and Martha Ellen (Cauble) Humphrey in Connersville, IN. He was a 1948 graduate of Connersville High School. He worked 34 years for Prudential Insurance Co retiring as District Manager in 1990. He later was a salesman for Lockhart Cadillac for 23 years retiring in 2013. He was a member of Plainfield Christian Church and the Plainfield Elks. Donovan is survived by his wife, Jackie L. (Waggoner) Humphrey; two sons, Brian D. (Cindy), Greg A. (Jane) Humphrey; a daughter, Gena L. (Jeff) Hurst; a step-son, Gary McKenna; two sisters, Ellen (Charlie) Day and Doris (Lyle) Kidd; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Adam Hurst. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, June 17, 2016 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, where services will be held on Saturday, June 18 at 11:00 am. Burial will be in Floral Park Cemetery, Indianapolis. Memorial contributions may be made to the church or Adams Animals, 2425 Stone Creek Dr., Plano, TX 75075.
