Gary L. Long

Gary L. Long, 67, of Clayton, passed away June 10, 2016. He was born September 27, 1948 in Somerset, KY. He was a US Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War. He was Director of Transportation and Facilities at Mill Creek School Corp for 9 years retiring in 2013. Prior to that, from 1980-2004, he was the Physical Plant Director for the Indiana Boys School. He was a member of the Plainfield Church of Christ. Gary is survived by his wife, Vicki L. (Skillman) Long; three sons, G. Nathan (Staci), Aaron M., and Taylor P. (Kate) Long; his mother, Martha (Taylor) Long; a brother, Donnie (Sue) Long; a sister, Sandy (Randy) Love; 7 grandchildren, 5 nieces and 4 nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Long. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am on Wednesday, June 15th in the funeral home. Burial, with military honors will be at Maple Hill Cemetery,Plainfield.
