Nola V. Bowman, 75, of Plainfield, passed away June 7, 2016. She was born March 30, 1941 to the late Smith T. and Gennievee (Grubb) Carr in Hadley, IN. She was a 1959 graduate of Avon High School. In the late 1960's she worked for Snelling & Snelling as a shorthand transcriber. In the 1970's Nola worked as Advertising Manager of the Messenger Newspaper and at W.A.R.T. radio station, both in Plainfield. In the 1980's She worked at R C A in Indianapolis in the laser disc division. In the early 90's Nola opened a small ceramic's shop in downtown Plainfield. Later, in the 90's she moved from Plainfield to California and then Florida holding various jobs at Universal Studio's and Ocean's Landing Resort. She was as member of the F.O.E., Moose Lodge, and Hendricks County Art League. Hobbies included writing, painting with oils and acrylics , cake decorating, and bowling. Nola is survived by a son, Jeff (Sharon) Bowman; two daughters, Kathie (Todd) Greenwood and Ellen Bowman; two sisters, Marilyn Green and Lillian (Terry) Hughes; 9 grandchildren and a great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Floyd and Bill Carr and a sister, Shirley Mullens. NOTE: At the family's request the service is open to Nola's closest friends and family. Burial will be in Center Friends Cemetery, Indianapolis.
