Mae L. Winsted

Mae L. Winsted, 97, of Plainfield, passed away May 24, 2016. She was born September 5, 1918 to the late Robert and Dorothy (Wells) Hand in Groveland, IN. She worked as a cashier in the cafeteria at Public Service of Indiana for 10 years. Later she became a nurse's aid at Methodist Hospital for 15 years retiring in 1980. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Plainfield. Mae is survived by a daughter, Janice E. (Herbert) Weiss; a son-in-law, Donald Cummings; 6 grandchildren, Dona Huddleston, Wendy Cummings, Jeff (Pam) Weiss, David (Andrea) Cummings, Greg (Carol) Weiss and Jennifer Conway; and many great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Winsted; a son, Max Winsted; a daughter, Linda L. Cummings; a grandson Jacob Richards; and 3 brothers and 1 sister. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Monday, May 30, 2016 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, where friends may call on Monday from 1:00 pm until service time at 2:00 pm.
