Phyllis Ann Gladden, 77, of Avon, passed away May 5, 2016 in her home. She was born in Indianapolis on September 30, 1938 to the late Crawford and Doris (Napper) Baker. Phyllis received her BS from Purdue University and her Masters Degree from Indiana State University. She was a homemaker and farm wife. Phyllis was an active member of Fairfield Friends Meeting, President of Indiana Porcelain Art School, Indiana World Organization of Porcelain Artists and Teachers, World Organization of China Painters, Porcelain Firing Squad, New Dimensions Porcelain Art Club, Hendricks County Community Foundation, Hendricks County Farm Bureau, Home Economists Guild of Indianapolis, Fairfield Extension Homemakers, Hendricks County 4-H leader, Hendricks County Republican Women and Plainfield PTO and youth organizations. Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 10, at 10:00 am in Fairfield Friends Meeting (10441 E. CR 700 S. Camby, IN 46113), where friends may call on Monday, May 9, from 3:00 until 8:00 pm at the church. Phyllis was preceded in death by her daughter, Joyce Linda Gladden. Survivors include her husband, Frank E. Gladden; son, Dale (Margaret) Gladden; daughters, Marilyn (John) Garner and Julie (Greg) Hardin; sisters, Helene Reyburn and Gerry Dunkin; grandchildren, Abby, Joyce and Riley Garner, Kylie and Kate Hardin. Burial will be in Fairfield Friends Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Fairfield Friends Meeting, Hendricks County Community Foundation or Porcelain Art School Of Indiana.
