William R. Humphrey

William R. Humphrey, 92, of Plainfield, passed away April 25, 2016. He was born September 11, 1923 to the late Guy M. and Dorothy (Tarplee) Humphrey in Rush County, IN. He received his BS Degree from the GM Institute in Detroit in mechanical engineering. He worked for Allisons Division of GM as a mechanical engineer for 42 years retiring in 1984. He was a member of the Plainfield Christian Church. William is survived by his wife, Mary L. (Carroll) Humphrey; a son, Jim (Linda) Humphrey; two daughters, Connie L. (Ron) Padgett and Carol A. (Steve) Rauch; 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday, April 28, 2016 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield. Services will be at 10:30 am on Friday, April 29 in the funeral home. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.
