Geraldine "Gerri" Richardson

Geraldine “Gerri” Richardson, 76, of Indianapolis (Hendricks Co.) IN, passed away peacefully on the 20th of March after a long hard fought battle with cancer. She was born September 15, 1939 to the late Henry Columbus and Belle (Dunaway) Brewer in Harlan County, KY. She married Ronald E. Richardson on September 3, 1976, who survives. Gerri lived in Cincinnati, OH from 1958-75. She moved to Sevierville, TN in 1975. She worked at several area restaurants including Trotter’s (waitress/hostess) in Pigeon Forge; Old Mill (Manager) in Pigeon Forge; and The Atrium (Manager) in Gatlinburg, TN. Gerri moved to Plainfield, IN in 1992. She worked for Maplehurst Bakeries in Brownsburg and Herff-Jones as an Inspector of Jewelry at their 62nd Street location in Indianapolis. She retired in 1998. Gerri loved and cherished her husband, sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also loved planting and growing a large variety of beautiful flowers and gardening. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Herbert and J.D. Brewer. Besides her husband, Gerri is survived by three sons, Tony (wife BJ) Collett, Timothy Collett and Scott Richardson; a step-son, Ronnie (Jennie) Galyon; a brother, Wallace “Arville” Brewer of Sevierville; 4 grandchildren, Misty (Todd) Whaley, Mandy (Danny) Medford, Matthew Collett, and Holden (Marissa) Collett; 3 step-grandchildren, Ryan, Brylee, and Brinkley Galyon; and 4 great grandchildren, Kelsey and Dalton Whaley, and Landon and Branson Medford. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday March 23, 2016 in the Mynatt Funeral Home, Rennoc Road Chapel, Knoxville. Graveside services will be at 11:00 am in the Lynnhurst Cemetery, Knoxville on Thursday, March 24, 2016. Local arrangements by Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield. www.hamptongentry.com
