Marie M. (Clossey) Welch, 94, of Avon, IN. passed away April 26, 2009 in Heartland Health Care. She was born November 6, 1914 in Indianapolis, IN. to the late Joseph and Rosa Clossey. She was charter member of St. Susanna Catholic Church in Plainfield and lived in Hendricks County since age 8. She was a 1931 graduate of Avon High School. She and her husband of 63 years owned and operated Welch's Service Station at Six Points Rd. and U.S. 40. She was very devoted to her family and was always loving and caring. She will be deeply missed. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Susanna Catholic Church on Wednesday, April 29, at 11:00 am. Friends may call on Wednesday, April 29 from 9:30 - 10:30 am at Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick J. Welch Jr.; son, Frederick J. Welch III; grandson, Shawn M. Coll; brother, Harry Clossey and sister, Anna Doyle. Survivors include her daughters, Mary (Jack) Skinner, Margaret (Dave) Coll, Patricia (Dennis) Grundy; grandchildren, John (Pennie) Skinner, Karen (Kent) Lancaster, Dan Skinner, Chris (Deena) Coll, Amanda (Monte) Moore, Kristine (John) Smith, Michelle and James Grundy; great grandchildren, Kendra and Kelsie Lancaster, Luke and Alexis Skinner, Cody, Casey and Clayton Coll, Micaela, Riley, Campbell and Emerson Moore. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the church.
