Rev. Lewis W. Swope

Rev. Lewis W. Swope, 96, of Indianapolis, passed away on January 22, 2016. He was born in Selinsgrove, PA on April 28, 1919 to the late Peter and Beulah (Hunt) Swope. Lewis was a lifetime minister and retired in 2010. He was a member of the Westside Church of the Nazarene. Lewis was preceded in death by his wife, Lena Mae Swope and sisters, Mildred Musser, Elizabeth Swinford and Margaretta Swope. Funeral services will be Thursday, January 28, 2016 in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, where friends may call from 11:00 am until time of service at 1:00 pm. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. Survivors include a son, Jerry (Julie) Swope; daughters, Carolyn (Jim) Scruggs and Sharon Skeens; sister, Edith Kindler; 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Humane Society.
