Lucille (O'Bryan) Russelburg, 87 of Plainfield, passed away peacefully on the evening of December 9, 2015 surrounded by family at her bedside.
She was born in Evansville, IN on February 7, 1928 at the home of her parents Joseph "Andy" O'Bryan and Ann (Weigand) O'Bryan. She attended St. Benedict Catholic School and later Evansville Memorial High School and subsequently worked for the Mead-Johnson Company in Evansville. Lucille held herself to a high moral standard and her example was the epitome of personal conduct to her family and friends. Using her rosary, she whispered prayers to safeguard those whom she dearly loved. She dreamed of Heaven, where she would be reunited with her lost loved ones. She deeply cared for soldiers and veterans, abandoned animals, and the poor. Lucille could identify those who were going through difficult times, and often, with great discretion, she pressed twenty-dollar bills into the palms of those she discerned as needy. Petite, friendly and exuding Irish charm, Lucille delighted in speaking with the passersby she met regularly while walking through her neighborhood. She will be dearly missed and never forgotten. Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 49 years, James Wallace Russelburg, Jr; and four sisters. Lucille is survived by her two sons: Craig Russelburg and Brian (Marlene) Russelburg; siblings: Joseph "Bud" O'Bryan and Florence Murphy; six grandchildren: Kyle Russelburg, Cameron (Laura) Russelburg, Megan (Daniel) Mechling, Joel Russelburg, Bianca Russelburg, and Sophia Russelburg; and two great-grandchildren. There will be a viewing at the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield on Sunday December 13, 2015 from 2pm--6pm. There will be a Funeral Mass at St. Susanna Catholic Church, Plainfield on Monday, December 14 at 10:00 am. Inurnment will be later at Calvary Cemetery in Indianapolis.
