Elizabeth C. Clanton

Elizabeth C. Rowlett Clanton, 90, of Avon, was born in Trimble County,KY October 22, 1918. She was the youngest daughter of J. C. and Mabel Cull Rowlett. Elizabeth moved to Jefferson County IN at age 6, attending school at Hanover IN. March 2, 1936 she married Clyde H. Clanton and they were separated by death, after 67 years May 24th, 2003. Elizabeth was an employee of Link Belt for 31 years, retiring in 1979. She was a resident of Indianapolis from 1946 until 2007 when she moved to Avon IN, and was a member of Ben Davis Christian Church. Elizabeth loved and devoted her life to her family. She is survived by a son, Kenneth (Jean) Clanton; daughter Nancy (Eldon) Bailey; grandchildren Debra Summers, Jeffrey Clanton, Bonnita Sneed, Teresa Clanton, and Gregory Clanton; great-grandchildren Amber Roth, Brandon Bourne, Nathan, Michael, and Joshua Sneed, Jocelyn and Joel Clanton, Erin and Krista Clanton; great-great -grandchildren Hope Elizabeth Roth and Kendall Bayleigh Bourne. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Milton and Nelson Rowlett; sister, Lela McKamey; and a great grandson, Bradley Clanton. She will be missed by all. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Friday, April 3, 2009 in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, where friends may call on Friday from 11:00 am until service time at 1:00 pm. Burial, Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.
