David J. Blackard

David J. Blackard, 60, of Plainfield, passed away November 9, 2015. He was born July 19, 1955 in Indianapolis, to the late Julian and Sarah (Stephenson) Blackard. David was a truck driver for Venice Inc. from 1977 to 2015. He was a caretaker for Spring Hill Cemetery for 30 years. David was preceded in death by a half brother, Devon Blackard. Survivors include siblings, Eddie (Christie) Blackard, Richard (Pam) Blackard, Julie Powell, Mary (Joe) Barras, Laura (Steve) Poynter, Phil (Stacey), Patricia and Jerry Blackard; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be Thursday, November 12, at 11:00 am in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, where friends may call on Wednesday, November 11, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Cartersburg.
