Frank L. Kolacz, 76, of Clayton, passed away October 31, 2015. He was born October 3, 1939 to the late John and Harriet (Dylewski) Kolacz in South Bend, IN. He served as a MP during his service in the US Marine Corps. From 1964-69 he was a deputy in the St. Joseph County Sheriffs Dept. He was a deputy for the US Marshals in South Bend from 1969-1989. He transferred to the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Brunswick, GA from 1989-91. In 1991 was with US Marshals Air Ops (Con-Air) for 5 years retiring in 1996. In 2006 he became the Jail Commander for the Hendricks County Sheriffs Department retiring in 2010. He was a candidate for the Hendricks County Sheriffs Department in 2002, He was a member of St. Susanna Catholic Church, Plainfield, the NRA and a member for the Hendricks County Merit Board. Frank is survived by his wife, Barbara A. (Muszynski) Kolacz; a son, Tom F. (Diane)Kolacz; a daughter, Francine A. (Jon) Carter; a brother, John (Lydia) Kolacz; a sister, Mary (Dallas) Erdman; and 4 grandchildren, Sara and Ashley Carter and Emily and Justin Kolacz. He was preceded in death by his step-mother, Evelyn Peterson Kolacz. Visitation will be from 3 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield. A Funeral Mass will be at 12:00 noon on Saturday, November 7, 2015 in the Holy Family Catholic Church in South Bend. Visitation will be from 3 to 8:00 pm on Friday at the St. Joseph Funeral Home, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
