David L. Elliott, 89, of Plainfield, passed away October 22, 2015. He was born September 24, 1926 to the late Ernest and Velma (Van Horn) Elliott in Indianapolis, IN. Dave was a US Army veteran of WWII and a truck driver for Eastern Express and Yellow Freight for many years. He also worked in transportation for the Wayne Township Schools for 18 years, retiring in 2007. He was a member of the Prospect Masonic Lodge #714. Dave is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Jacqueline M. (Pope) Elliott; two daughters, Linda (Dave) Reynolds and Deb (Jeff) Zartman; four grandchildren, Emily (Kyle) Green, Beth (Nate) Romer, Jess (Josh) Tuttle and Jon Zartman; and 3 great grandchildren. Friends may call on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home in Plainfield from 3:00 pm until the memorial service at 5:30 pm. He will be remembered as a kind and gentle man who loved his family and his country. Inurnment will be in West Ridge Park Cemetery, Indianapolis. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, or the WWII Indy Honor Flight.
