Geraldine Carpenter

Geraldine Carpenter, 88, of Plainfield, passed away September 15, 2015. She was born January 10, 1927 to the late S. W. and Lasby (Hargis) Matthew in Overton County, TN. She was a member of the Community Church of the Nazarene in Plainfield. She worked as a custodian at Plainfield High School for 23 years retiring in 1992. Geraldine is survived by two sons, Wayne Carpenter and Albert (Debbie) Barnes; six daughters, Jean Miller, Geraldine Pritchett, Gale (James) King, Kay Barnes, Mary (Rick) Cannon, and Freda (Harold) Roark; two sisters, Joyce Scher and Lena (Horace) Matthew; 24 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Sizemore and a granddaughter, Linda Harmon Funeral services will be at 10:30 am on Monday, September 21, 2015 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, where friends may call on Sunday, September 20 from 2:00 to 6:00 pm. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.
