Mable I. Whitt

Mable I. Whitt, 96, of Danville, passed away September 1, 2015. She was born September 9, 1918 to the late John and Margaret (Carter) Reid in Shelburn, IN. She was a US Army Air Corps veteran of WWII where she was a certified aircraft mechanic. She worked as a nurses aid at Hendricks Regional Health for 10 years retiring in 1990. Mable is survived by her husband of 67 years, Leon B. Whitt. She is also survived by two sons, Jeffrey B. (Sherri) and Dale L. (Brenda) Whitt; 4 grandchildren, Brock and Bryan Whitt and Kevin and Jordan Whitt; and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Whitt. Services will be at 2:30 pm on Saturday, September 5, 2015 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, where friends may call on Saturday from 1:00 pm until service time at 2:30 pm. Burial with military honors will be at Spring Hill Cemetery in Cartersburg, IN.
