Betty P. McCown

Betty P. McCown, 90, of Plainfield, passed away July 1, 2015 at Plainfield Health Care. She was born January 25, 1925 to the late Ralph and Flossie (Murphy) Grounds. Betty worked for Kroger as a clerk from 1943 until 1948. She then went to work for Standard Grocery from 1953 until 1958. Betty is a member of Eminence Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Archie W. McCown. Funeral services will be Monday, July 6, 2015 at 10:30 am in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, where friends may call on Sunday, July 5, from 2:00 to 6:00 pm. Survivors include sons, William (Phyllis) and Barry (Julie) McCown; sisters, Martha Moore, Nellie Howard and Sharon Partyka; granddaughters, Anna Delaney and Aidan Elizabeth McCown. Burial will be in Stilesville Cemetery.
