Albert J. Macek, 77, of Plainfield, passed away June 27, 2015. He was born October 18, 1937 to the late Albert L. and Mary (Gaydosh) Macek in Spangler, PA. He graduate from St. Mary High School in Sandusky, OH in 1955. He was a US Army veteran. He retired from Miliary Vehicle Operations (MVO) and Allisons Division of General Motors as a designer and test engineer. He was a member of St. Athanasius Byzantine Catholic Church, St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Mooresville and Christ Our Savior Catholic Church in Clymer, PA. Al is survived by a daughter, Sharen Mary Macek; a son, A. Bryan ( wife Andrea) Macek; two brothers, Ed and Bob Macek; two sisters, Christine and Jean Macek; and two grandchildren, Mark and Daniel Macek. He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna (Boughamer) Macek. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 in the St. Athanasius Byzantine Catholic Church, 1117 Blaine Ave., Indianapolis, 46221. Visitation will be from 4:00 t0 8:00 pm on Tuesday, June 30 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield. A Parastas Service will be at 7:00 pm on Tuesday. Inurnment will be at a later date in Pennsylvania. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's, St. Athanasius Byzantine Catholic Church, St. Thomas More Catholic Church or Christ Our Savior Catholic Church, or please play the Lotto and light a candle.
