Vats "Otis" Boggs, 85, of Stilesville, passed away May 28, 2015. He was born March 21, 1930 to the late Frelen and Maude (Baker) Boggs in Big Laurel, KY. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. He worked as a welder for 29 years retiring from Conrail in 1992. He was a member and a deacon at Stilesville Christian Church. Otis is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mitzi G. (Slone) Boggs. He is also survived by a son, Kenneth Lee (Peggy) Boggs; a daughter, Debra E. (Robert) Hoffman; four brothers, Bill (Margaret), Hugh (Mary Rose), Curtis (Rosemary) and Virgil Boggs; 4 grandchildren, Matthew (Delilah Bunten) Boggs, Mira and Brian Hoffman, and Alex Boggs; and 2 great grandchildren, Abigail Boggs and Adryanah Hendershot. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am on Monday, June 1, 2015 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, where friends may call on Sunday May 31 from 2:00 TO 6:00 pm. Burial will be in Stilesville Cemetery.
