Richard R. Martin

Richard R. Martin, 77, of Indianapolis (Hendricks Co.), passed away in his home on May 3, 2015. He was born on May 29, 1937 in Portland, TN to the late Ira and Ollie Martin. Richard was an U.S. Army veteran. He worked for Ford Motor Co. for 12 years retiring in 1999. Richard was a member of the Jubilee Masonic Lodge #746 and Scottish Rite of Indianapolis. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda (White) Martin. Survivors include his son, Anthony "Tony" Martin; daughter, Pamela Johnson; step-son, Thomas (Stacey) Neal; step-daughter, Tammy (Jim) Lakin; brother, Howard (Janice) Martin; sister, Jean Eden; granddaughter, Brittany McQueen; several step-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Monday, May 11, at 2:00 pm in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, where friends may call from 12:00 pm until time of service. Graveside services will be Tuesday, May 12, at 3:00 pm (CDT) in Maple Hill Cemetery, Portland, TN. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to American Red Cross.
