William A. Drake Sr., 63, of Danville, IN passed away suddenly December 19 while visiting his son in Bracebridge, Ontario, Canada. He was born March 26, 1945 to the late Harold and Peg Drake. He was a US Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War where he received a Purple Heart. He attended Tabor Academy and Dean College both in Massachusetts. After spending many years in the advertising business he became a stay at home dad, or as he referred to himself as Mr. Mom. He was a member and past president for the Hendricks County Habitat For Humanity; he also was a member and past president of the Mill Creek Optimist Club and served as Lt. Govenor of the South District. He was instrumental in starting the Lions Den at St. Marks Episopal Church in Plainfield where he retired after 10 years as Chef Emeritus. He is survived by his wife, Anna Marie Drake; two sons, Harold II and William A. Drake Jr.; a daughter, Alexandria Drake; and a sister, Mary Howard. Funeral services will be at 3:00 pm Tuesday, December 30 at St. Marks Episcopal Church. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 pm Monday December 29 at Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, IN.
