Robert (Bob) Roy Rodgers, 89, of Plainfield, passed away to be with his Lord and Savior on March 4, 2015. He was born and raised in Terre Haute to the late Robert Roy and Helen (Cunning) Rodgers on October 29, 1925. He was an US Army Air Corps veteran of WWII and after the war he graduated from Purdue University in 1950 in aeronautical engineering. Bob married Patricia Marie Dodd on November 11, 1950. Bob and Pat had 2 children, Bruce (Joyce) Rodgers and Jennifer (Michael) Robison. Bob was blessed with 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren who always brought a smile and a laugh to his face. Bob married Martha (Roberts) Rodgers on November 27, 1999. Martha has 3 children, Jennifer Roberts, Rob Roberts and Deanna Blair and one grandchild. Bob's career included working at Boeing in Seattle; Goodyear in Phoenix; Hazelteen in Indianapolis; and Drywall in Attica. He retired from Naval Avionics in 1993. Bob was raised as a Mason in North Park Lodge #646 on March 1, 1947. He was worshipful Master of the Plainfield Lodge #653 in 1977 and served as Plainfield's secretary from 1981 to 1987. He was a member of the Scottish Rite (1977). He was also a member of the Plainfield Christian Church; the American Legion; NARFE, where he served as past president and past area vice-president; the Purdue Alumni Association and the TKE Fraternity. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm on Monday, March 9, 2015 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, where friends may call on Monday from 11:00 am until service time at 1:00 pm. Burial with military honors will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.
