Frank R. Brunner, 82, of Plainfield, passed away March 3, 2015. He was born March 15, 1932 to the late Frank Jr., and Hazel (Girsch) Brunner in Bessemer, MI, but grew up in Mercer, WI. Graduating high school, he attended Northland Community College, Ashland, WI, for only a short time before enlisting in the US Air Force. He served during the Korean War, being stationed in Japan and then teaching electronics at Lowry Air Force Base, Denver, CO. Leaving the military to start a family, he worked as a financial advisor for Lockheed Martin Corp for 31 years, retiring in 1990. Frank was a charter member of the Westminster Church of the Nazarene, Westminster, CO, where he faithfully served for more than 50 years. In 2007, he and his wife moved to Plainfield, IN where he was a member of the United Community Church of the Nazarene, Plainfield, and the Plainfield American Legion. Frank is survived by a son, Douglas A. (Margie) Brunner; a daughter, Linda J. He was preceded in death his wife of 56 years, Edna L. (Wolff) Brunner, and sister, June Schenzel. Dad accepted Christ as his Savior when he was 18 and always strove to follow Him. Among many great attributes, Dad was committed to his family and Lord, gave sacrificially to the church and those in need, was a friend to anyone he met, laughed heartily at a good joke, was always willing to help without hesitation and expected nothing in return, offered wise guidance, and prayed daily for his family, friends, church and others . In short, Dad modeled Christ to us. A celebration of Frank’s life will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, March 7, 2015, at United Community Church of the Nazarene, 149 Vestal Road, Plainfield.
