Natalie Dawn Smith, 28, of Indianapolis, IN went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 30, 2015. Natalie died unexpectedly from respiratory failure as a complication of diabetes. She passed away at I.U. West Hospital with her parents and her sister and brother-in-law surrounding her with their love.
Natalie was born on a Wednesday, September 24, 1986 to Rick and Belinda Smith in Indianapolis, IN. She was home schooled for 4 and a half years and attended three Christian schools. Natalie graduated from Eagledale Christian School as Co-Valedictorian in 2004. She attended and graduated from Ivy Tech Nursing Program in 2009, obtaining her associates degree. Natalie worked as a Registered Nurse for 3 years. Natalie was dedicated to the Lord as an infant and she asked Jesus to come into her heart at a very young age. She attended church with her family all of her life and was baptized when she was sixteen. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church. Natalie was presently attending church with her parents at Our Shepherd Lutheran Church. Natalie enjoyed laughing and saying funny things to make us smile. She enjoyed music and playing drums on the worship team. She also liked to ride her bike, read mysteries and play cards and board games. Natalie suffered with diabetes for 15 years and now her struggle is over. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Natalie is survived by her parents, her sister and brother-in-law, Melissa and Jason Hall of Roachdale, IN and their 3 children, J.J., Bryce and Ashlyn. Natalie is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives. Visitation and funeral services will be at Our Lutheran Church, with Pastor Lepley officiating. Dates and times will be announced by the family. Natalie's family would like to express our deepest appreciation to all those who came to visit her, with special thanks to Pastor Phil Rigdon and Pastor Daniel Lepley and our church family and friends. We also want to express our gratitude to the medical staff on unit 3 West at I.U. West Hospital in Avon. Natalie's final resting place will be Rock Springs Cemetery in Simpson, IL with arrangements provided by Bailey Funeral Home, Vienna, IL.
