Judith Ann Lydick

Judith Ann (Church) Lydick passed away on December 16, 2014. She was born in Indianapolis on September 12, 1938, the daughter of John and Sallie (Joseph) Church. She graduated from Stilesville High School, Purdue University (Consumer and Family Science) and Indiana State University (Masters in Education). She taught Home Economics at Avon High School, was a substitute school teacher for 22 years in the Plainfield school system, and was secretary at First Baptist Church of Plainfield for 15 years. She married Robert F. Lydick on May 27, 1961 and they celebrated over 53 years of marriage together. Judy was a wonderful wife and mother who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a faithful Christian woman and long time member of the First Baptist Church of Plainfield. She enjoyed sewing and making quilts, scrapbooking, cooking and baking. She was an avid Boilermaker and loved listening to the Purdue Glee Club whenever she could. She is survived by her husband, Bob; son Larry (Tammi), daughter Reann (John) and four grandchildren Zachary and Madeline Lydick, John Jr. (Masita) and David Poray. She is also survived by her sister Phyllis Merritt (Don), sister-in-law Bonnie Gaston, brother-in-law Ron Lydick (Karen) as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and great-great nieces. Visitation and services will be held Saturday, December 20 at the First Baptist Church of Plainfield, with visitation from 10:30am – 1:30pm and the service at 1:30pm with Pastor Dusty Cowell officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the ABC International Ministries in c/o First Baptist Church of Plainfield.
